What's in the report

15 things every Hudson Valley business website should get right

Most "free audits" are automated scanner output that nobody reads. This isn't that. Every finding below is checked manually against your live site, prioritized by impact, and written in plain English.

01

Mobile load speed

Real Core Web Vitals on a 4G connection. If your site loads in 6 seconds on a phone, your customers are gone before the homepage paints.

02

Desktop load speed

PageSpeed score plus the actual rendering timeline. Where's the bottleneck — fonts, images, render-blocking scripts? Specific fix per finding.

03

Mobile rendering

Tap target sizing, readable font sizes, layout shift, viewport configuration. Anything broken on a phone gets flagged with a screenshot.

04

Title tags & meta descriptions

Page-by-page audit of your titles and meta. The single most important on-page SEO element — and the one most small business sites get completely wrong.

05

Heading structure

H1 through H3 hierarchy. Skipping levels, using headings for styling, or missing the H1 entirely is the silent SEO killer most sites have.

06

Schema markup

Whether your site ships structured data — LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, Review — that Google and AI search engines need to understand what you do.

07

AI search visibility

Will ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews find and cite your business when someone asks for a recommendation in your category? This is the new local search.

08

Google Business Profile

Whether your GBP is set up correctly, optimized for your service area, and earning the citations and reviews that drive the local pack.

09

Local keyword targeting

Whether your site is actually targeting "[service] in [Hudson Valley town]" — the searches your customers are actually running.

10

Internal linking

How well your pages link to each other. Strong internal linking is a massive SEO lift most sites leave on the table.

11

Trust signals

License, insurance, certifications, real reviews, real photos. Visible above the fold or buried in the footer? Big difference.

12

Call-to-action placement

Where your CTAs are, whether they're tap-friendly on mobile, and whether the customer's next step is obvious on every page.

13

Form friction

Fields that make people bounce. The right number of fields for your category and how to pre-qualify without scaring leads off.

14

Image optimization

Bloated images are the #1 cause of slow mobile load. We check sizing, formats, lazy loading, and alt text for every above-fold image.

15

Security & ownership

SSL, hosting setup, platform lock-in risk. Whether you actually own your site or whether it's chained to a $50/mo platform with hostage rights.

Who's doing the audit

Hi, I'm Nick. I write every audit myself.

I run Sileon Web Design out of Goshen. I started this studio because I kept seeing the same thing — local Hudson Valley businesses paying agencies for cookie-cutter WordPress sites that didn't work, or fighting with Wix templates and wondering why nobody was calling.

The audit isn't outsourced. It isn't generated. I open your site on a real phone, run it through Lighthouse, validate your schema, and search for the things your customers are searching for to see if you actually surface. Then I write the findings up in plain English and send them over.

If we end up working together, great. If not — also great. The audit is the deliverable.

About the audit

What does the free audit actually cover?
Fifteen verified findings across five categories: load speed, mobile rendering, on-page SEO, schema markup and AI search visibility, and conversion friction. Every finding is verified manually against your live site — no automated scanner output dumped into a PDF.
How long does it take?
You'll have your audit in 24 to 48 hours. Most are delivered the same business day if submitted before noon.
Is there a sales pitch attached?
No. The audit is a written report. If you want to talk about fixing what we found, you can — but the report is the deliverable, not a meeting. Many of the things we surface are 30-minute fixes you can do yourself.
Why is this free?
Two reasons. One, it's the most honest sales tool a web designer has — if your site is fine, I'll tell you, and you'll trust me when something isn't fine later. Two, the audit is genuinely useful even if you never hire me. Hudson Valley small business owners have been told their websites are "fine" for years; they deserve someone to actually look.
What if my site has a lot of problems?
That's normal. Most small business sites I audit have 8 to 12 verified issues out of the 15 categories. The audit prioritizes them by impact — what to fix this week, what to fix this quarter, what's not worth the effort. You can take the report to any developer or do the fixes yourself.
Do you audit sites outside the Hudson Valley?
Hudson Valley businesses are the priority and get fastest turnaround. I'll audit anywhere, but Hudson Valley submissions are first in queue.
